I learned the hard way that the quotes, "Buy with us and have the confidence you are buying from a long time local who will still be here for any concerns you may have in the future," as well as every car has "been through a rigorous 60 point inspection" are far from true.

I purchased a 2001 Subaru Outback from them. Four hours after driving it off the lot, the vehicle began smoking due to two leaking gaskets which they then fixed.

Two weeks later, my transmission went as I was driving, leaving me stranded in the middle of 50 with a car that wouldn't start back up. I immediately contacted South Shore Sales and was told I would get a call when the owner was back in town. I kept calling and getting no help so after a week of it sitting at a mechanic that doesn't do warranties, I asked them if they could bring it to their mechanic. Again, absolutely no help and told that "at least you'll get a new transmission for cheap," due to the warranty.

I got it to a specialized Subaru mechanic and they immediately diagnosed that the transmission had gone and that the cause was that there was the incorrect fluid in the front differential. They told me that this was something that any mechanic should have been able to notice just by checking the dipstick and that it should not have been allowed on a car lot and that I purchased a "lemon". Just a month or so before, a lady brought the same vehicle to them and they told her not to buy it because of a transmission issue. When that lady returned to the car lot and told them what the mechanic said, they responded by saying they replaced the transmission and it was just some residual and it was kept on the lot.

So after having to bring the car to a mechanic twice in just two weeks of owning the car, I began wondering why South Shore Sales isn't sticking to their word of "being here for any concerns you may have in the future." They have provided zero help with the transmission, which has an estimated repair of $3,600, $1,000 of which will be paid by the warranty company. I have been without a car now for over a month because I can't afford $2,600 after paying $7,000 for a vehicle in which I was told was going to treat me amazingly. It was my fault for not taking it to a mechanic to get it checked out, but I trusted these "long time locals" and a "60 point inspection."

So through this experience and the mechanics word, I wouldn't recommend buying from here to anyone!
